《Hanging out》 Prague, Czech republic The man hanging in the air, clutching at a straw with one hand, was the famous psychoanalyst Freud. Freud suffered from many phobias throughout his life, including the fear of his own death. At the age of 83, he was diagnosed with oral cancer. Unable to endure pain and fear, he asked his friends and doctors to give him 30 milligrams of morphine to kill himself. This work by artist DavidCerny shows Freud's constant struggle against fear of death. Interestingly, the work has been exhibited in London, Berlin, Chicago and other places, and is often treated by passers-by or as a real suicide, which on closer inspection turns out to be a false alarm.
