《Untitled 1986》

Oxford

《Untitled 1986》 Oxford

The 7.6-meter-tall statue is also known as untitled 1986. The statue was initially deemed alien by the city council and asked to be removed, but gradually came to be accepted. The work was completed in 1986 to mark the 41st anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, Japan.

The owner had sculptor JohnBuckley design and local craftsmen complete a shark made of metal, resin and plaster that mimicked the path of an atomic bomb and "crashed" into the roof.
